My primary purpose as a musician is to respect the composer’s intentions.

I strive for clarity, purity and simplicity in expression, bringing my personality and emotions to a performance in the service of, and to enhance the composer’s message, creating a unique statement.

With every piece that I perform, I hope to bring a clarity of understanding and articulation, faultless technical command and resourcefulness and excitement, in turn harnessing the intentions of composers with distilled clarity.
— Bernadette Harvey

Apart from my ongoing Sonata Project, in which I collaborate with composers and commission new pieces to perform, my other new classical music collaborations occur through the Arizona Friends of Chamber Music. This organisation sponsors the Tucson Winter Chamber Music Festival, directed by the international cellist Peter Rejto, in which I perform overseas annually.
